Agneepath (2012) Movie Review

"Tu na thamega kabhi tu na mudega kabhi tu na rukega kabhi,
Kar shapath, Kar shapath, Kar shapath,
Agnipath, Agnipath, Agnipath"

You will definitely get power when you chant this poem* (originally written by Harivansh Rai Bachchan father of Amitabh Bachchan) as  Dinanath Chauhan told his son Vijay in the movie Agneepath and I was also chanting this poem when coming back after watching this movie.

*You can find this full poem with translated in english just end of this review.

Well friends just came back from Inox city center after watching Agneepath (2012), what a movie, show was packed up. If I describe this 3 hours movie, it will be like this. First 15-20mins just like last 10 over of an one-day cricket match, then before last 15mins it’s a test match and the ending  15mins what I can say, it’s like a T-20 match, just wow…. everything. Full of drama, emotions, anger, revenge, entertainment.

The plus point of this movie is the cinematography, acting and dialogues. Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt these main two characters gave their best so far.  The emotions, sentiments and anger were increasing with the time. You can predict the story that what will happen? But you can’t predict that how it will be?

The story line remains same as the previous Agneepath was. But the screenplay, dialogues, action, entertainment and acting makes this Agneepath best.

I am not going to tell you the story but I am going to share some best scenes of Agneepath 2012.
  1. When Dinanath, father of Vijay (Hrithik Roshan) is walking together and chanting the poem “Agneepath” on very first of this movie.
  2. Entry of Kancha Cheena (Sanjay Dutt)
  3. The tragic scene when Dinanath was killed by Kancha Cheena (Sanjay Dutt).
  4. Entry of Rishi Kapoor.
  5. The scene when Vijay killed Rauf Lala’s (Rishi Kapoor) own son, Mazhar and then came back to Rauf Lala carrying the body when the marriage ceremony of Mazhar was going on.
  6. When vijay was going to give a gift for his sister, Shiksha
  7. The scene when Rauf Lala was killed by Vijay.
  8. Meeting scene when Shiksha(Kanika Tiwari) came to his brother Vijay.
  9. Vijay and his mother Suhasini’s conversation at her new home in Mumbai at the time of dinner.
  10. Just after that, conversation between Vijay and Kaali (Priyanka Chopra).
  11. Another conversation between Vijay and Kaali before they get married
  12. Tragic moment when Kaali was dying.
But from the above last 15 mins of this movie was bind blowing, you can’t take your eyes off from the screen. The fights between Vijay and Kancha and the last revenge scene with powerful vijay remembering how his father was killed at that same point same way, chanting the same poem agneepth at that time and the last scream of vijay after killing Kancha was “Baba”. Every moment was identical and unique.  Very last moment when Vijay was seeing his father waving his hand and calling him to come.

The character of Young Vijay Deenanath Chauhan(Arish Bhiwandiwala) was very good, Arish Bhiwandiwala did a good job in this film. Priyanka Chopra as Kaali Gawde, Om Puri as Inspector Gaitonde and Zarina Wahab as Suhasini Chauhan are functional in this movie where Arish Bhiwandiwala as the young Vijay Chauhan puts in a confident act, Hrithik Roshan convincingly glides into his coarse character here and has a towering presence. He completely redefines Vijay Dinanath Chauhan and never in his act do you see even a glimpse of the original. Sanjay Dutt reeks of menace and malice through his sadistic laughs. At times he overdoes his guffaws but therein lays his strength, which he uses to the hilt. Rishi Kapoor has never looked or played so mean onscreen before. As the kohl-eyed Rauf Lala, the affable actor reinvents his screen image with a beastly streak to his character. So good is the actor that you never get enough of him.

And the added entertainment is Chikni Chameli, a item number when you will see hot Katrina Kaif Special appearance in this Item number.

Songs Review of Agneepath 2012

The songs were good as I can say.
Where the song "Gun Gun Guna" - fun moment, "O saiyyan" and "Abhi mujh main kahin" makes you emotional, "Shah Ka Rutba" describes the power, "Deva Shree Ganesha" signals to end of the evil and "Chikni Chameli" a full entertainment.

All I can say it’s a best remake ever in Bollywood till now.  Director Karan Malhotra did a good judgment with this movie. I am not a critic but myself and from my point of view this film will definitely should score 5 out of 5 and will be the first blockbuster of this year 2012.

So don’t waste your time my friends, go and watch this fully mashala entertaining movie on big screen.

Agneepath Poem
by
Harivansh Rai Bachchan

Vruksh ho bade bhale,
ho ghane ho bhale,
Ek Patra chhah bhi mang mat, mang mat, mang mat,
Agnipath, Agnipath Agnipath;

Tu na thamega kabhi tu na mudega kabhi tu na rukega kabhi,
Kar shapath, Kar shapath, Kar shapath,
Agnipath, Agnipath, Agnipath.
Ye Mahan Drushya hain,
Chal raha Manushya hain,
Ashru, Sweth, Rakta se Latpat Latpat Latpat..
Agnipath, Agnipath, Agnipath.

(There may be huge, warm and shady trees all around)
(Don't even as the shade of a single leaf)
(Walk on the Path of Fire, Walk on the Path of Fire)

(You will not stop, You will not turn, You will not halt)
(Take this oath, take this oath, take this oath)
(The Oath of Fire, the Oath of Fire, the Oath of Fire)

(This is a great situation)
(Man Walks)
(Tears, Sweat and Blood)
(They swathe Him, they swathe Him)
(Walk on the Path of Fire, Walk on the Path of Fire)
